find blogs you like n comment your fingers off, then look at their friends list and pick people at random to look at... etc-

You just need enough friends and to write entertaining posts.

err...popular? I just post for the hellovit. Although, if you post about a topic of general interest then people from all over the web will visit. My 'top ten emotional game moments' brought in loads of randomers.

Reply to all (or nearly all) comments that people make on your blog. Only invite people to be a friend once you have commented on their blog a few times, and say something to them when you do, even if you say hello. People get pissed off with folk who juts randomly target a few people and invite them, you get told to get lost. However, the more friends you have, the more people will read your blog as you will appear on their 'friends posts'.
Blog frequently, and above all, write entertaining funny and witty posts. -
Saying "goodbye" seemed to help me. I'm in the top 20 for that reason.
